Last Weekend for Bats in the Belfry

We had a good long run, but it still seems like it went by so fast! I had a great time getting know so many new actors and actress that each have a very unique style! It was a little bitter sweet on the last day for Marcus and I, we both realized that we wouldn't be acting in a play together again for a few months. I will however be doing make-up on his next show A Carol for Tiny Tim! I'm very excited!
I had my doubts about the play when we first started rehearsing only because it's written a little weird, but everyone brought it to life and we had great performances! I'll miss everyone!

Full Weekend!

To start off...
Had another great weekend with Bats in the Belfry! Our audiences were fabulous and Marcus and I changed up our costumes! We went with a Cry Baby theme and the hair style gave me a chance to try out the Bump It... which I loved! Last weekend for the show is approching, so if you havent seen it yet make your way to the theatre! New costumes are instore from Marcus and I!

Saturday was another shower for Bighton! Justin was invited to this one! They got a lot of gifts this go around also!! We had some fun games and good food and an amazing cake Ida made! He's going to be loaded with so much stuff when he gets out! Here are a few pics!

Grandpa is goiing to this outfit!

Paranormal Day

So I had voice yesterday and while I was warming up with my teacher I went an octave!! Woo!

Later in the day I went to the movies with Marcus and saw Paranormal Activity.....
It was the scariest movie I've seen ALL year! I love ghosts stories and paranormal things like that, but this was FREAKY!! If you haven't seen it, you should... well if you can handle scary ghosts and demon stories... Like The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Blare Witch Project don't go see this one!
It was very well made and the two actors in the movie did a great job! Marcus even thought it was a true story when it first started!
Anyway, don't go see it alone for sure and don't go when you want to sleep that night...
I give the movie an A!

Bats in the Belfry:Opening weekend

This past weekend was the opening weekend for my most recent play Bats in the Belfry! We had a pretty good turn out despite a football game on in town on Friday and a special presentation by Betty Buckley at the college on Saturday. Sunday's are always a small audience day.
Marcus and I had so much fun with our parts, but next weekend we're shaking it up with new costumes and a "Cry Baby" feel. Still haven't seen the review for the show, but it should be coming out today! Here are a few of our publicity pictures! Minus Marcus.

Brighton's first shower

Saturday was the first baby shower for Brighton LaRusch (due Nov 24)! He got lots of stuff to help his mom and dad get ready for him, such as two car seats (infant and regular), his high chair, stroller, and lots of other goodies! We're having another one on the 17th! By then Brighton should be set! Here are just a few pictures from that day!

80's night at rehearsal

So Bats In The Belfry opens next weekend... We've been rehearsing since August and it's finally "hell week". Marcus and I are only on stage for a couple of scenes, so we try to find different things to entertain ourselves while we're not busy.
The past couple of nights at rehearsal we've been practicing the Thriller dance for curtain call. Wednesday Marc and I decided we would be prepared for Thursday's dance practice. After we were finished with our scenes we went back stage to change into our work clothes....

We figured since we were learning a dance from the 80's why not wear 80's work out gear. It certainly made our night's rehearsal so much better and we both agreed that this was probably the best idea we've ever had.

We were more energized when we put on the outfits and it makes me wonder what life would be like if we always wore costumes... Marcus and I would always be energized to an overwhelming degree if that were to happen!

All in all it was the most fun Marc and I have had at these rehearsal yet! More to come!

Eastland

This weekend I went to Eastland to visit my best friend from college, Sami! Her daughter Jaedyn (my God daughter) won a beauty pageant that was being held there! It was so great to see Sami, Billy and the twins!

Audrey came with me and we had fun on the drive down... we were late as we always are, but we still got to see Jaedyn win! Our only regret of the trip is that we didn't get to stay longer and visit with Sami! We miss her so much!

Life thus far > Sept 2009

Hey all you bloggers!
Haven't blogged in a LONG while, so I thought I'd start again.... We'll see how long I can make it this time with out stopping haha.

A lot has happened since my last blog, I now have another sibling married off to a wonderful women! I also have a new niece and nephew! Isaac and Kaylin! The wedding was wonderful and outdoors. I gave the reading and messed up a couple times while I was trying not to sink into the soft ground. Ryan gave the kids rings also and then you could here the sniffles through the crowd. Chase came to the wedding with me and wound up recording it for the families. I'm currently editing it and working on making it into a DVD for the families.
At the reception I danced to the cha-cha-slide and the mocerina. When it came time for the dollar dance with Ryan and Ida I realized that I didn't have any cash with me, so I pulled out my credit card and handed it to my brother. It got me a dance for my brother, but I still owe them a dollar haha. At the end of the night they did the guarder and bouquet toss. Now I didn't catch my sister's or my best friends so I was determined to catch this one! I stood next to Ida's 6 foot tall sister Alica... probably not my best choice when it came to the bouquet, but I CAUGHT IT! Reached right out a caught it in one hand by the stems!! Woo! My aunt gave me a high five for that one since I told her "I'm catching this one!" After I caught the bouquet, Kaylin came up to me and handed me a dollar... I didn't understand why she was handing me a dollar then I realized it was for the flowers haha. I handed her the flowers and the dollar back and she was so excited that she got the bouquet! All I cared about was catching the bouquet! The glory! haha. I got a picture of Ida and I with the bouquet so I have the proof I need! All in all the whole thing was wonderful and I have great additions the family!

In other news...

I had an audition for Casa Manana for Sweeney Todd! I knew I more than likely wouldn't have a chance at the parts, but it was good practice for my Peter Pan audition in a few weeks! I'm please with how the audition went, I hit my notes and made a good impression on the casting directors.

The play I am currently in at TOTS in Weatherford is opening in just two weeks! The directors think that Marcus and I will steal the show with our two upbeat, loud, energetic characters, Buddy and Holly (get it? Buddy Holly?). Haven't been to rehearsal's in a week (seeing as how I'm only in act 1) so I'm not to sure how the second act is coming along. The show is called Bats in the Belfry. Interesting to the least. Opening night is October 9 at 8pm.

Chase and I have now been together for 6 months! Things are going great and he is now the same age as me, haha, no longer a cougar guys! We have so much fun together and we understand each other... well for the most part... there are still some things that he's finding out about not just me, but all girls, like when we're moody you're the enemy. If I'm right, take it like a man. There is only room for one diva/drama queen. And the cake topper, NO SARCASTIC JOKING DURING THAT ONE WEEK IN THE MONTH. It only leads to bad things...

Summer is ending slowly here in Texas and fall is slowly approaching......... Hurry it up fall I'm tired of always sweating!

Labor day was a fun reunion with Kyla.

A little background... Marcus, Jess and I had a little falling out with Kyla last year about this time. Over the summer I talked to Kyla about everything one and for all and settled it.
Long story short Kyla and I made up and are friends again.

We went to dinner with her at Olive Garden and had a nice time chatting before she had to go back to school!

Signing Off!

Memorial Day Weekend

Very busy weekend!

Lets start with Friday...

BORRRRRING day at the office! Phones were dead Michelle and Greg were off... Nothing to do...

Then I got off early (woo) and headed back home to do my friend Taryns hair for her theate banquet. The theme was Broadway muscials and everyone dressed up as characters from the shows! Taryn went as Penny Pingleton from Hairspay! She looked great!

On to Saturday!

I had my voice recital finally! I sang I Dont Know How To Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar! I wasn't too happy with how it went but my parents, Chase and Audrey all said it was good. We also did a skit with the little kids to the song Oh You Beautiful Doll. It was a lot of fun!

Sunday Sunday Sunday! .....Nothing happened....

Monday! Memorial Day!

Went to see the Yankees play the Rangers and they stommped them! 11-1! wo Go Yankees! I went to game with my family and Chase! It was a lot of fun!

Then Chase got in trouble for little gravy grace being at his house... He's not suppose to have pets but he was keeping her for a couple of days... lots of trouble! Everything worked out though! As it always does!

... and so it begins...

So my sister decided to send me an invite to this whole blogging business. I'm going to give it a shot. Here goes....

I just had another audition yesterday for an indi feature film called "Split Milk". I'm pretty sure it went well, but with work in Texas being slow at the moment it's highly likely that I wont hear anything about it. That the industry though.

In other news...

I love my job at the law firm! The guys (Greg, Andy, Ken and Shawn) are great and Michelle's the BEST! My day normally consists of answering the phone, filing A BUNCH of files, and scanning old files! Woo! I've been here for 5 months now, almost 6! It does get hard sitting behind a desk all day though, especially for someone ADD. The guys and Michelle make it fun though!
Today's Thursday which means my voice recital is in two days. I guess I should really start working on my song (which is I Don't Know How To Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar). I've been preparing it since January, but I haven't been practicing it that often... oops! I've got quite a few people coming to this one so I better be good!
Tonight is the So You Think You Can Dance premiere! THE best dance show ever! I, however, am going to have to miss it :( I have a read through for my play Heaven Can Wait! I think this will be a very good show! All of the actors are great and really connect with their characters. I play Bette Logan (pronounced Betty) the love interest to the main character Joe. This is the first PLAY I've done in over a year! I'm very excited to be apart of it!
Also on the slooooow Thursday, I just had lunch with my best friend Brett, who's home from the Navy! He's been up in Chicago for an extremely long time! His last leave was for Christmas, so I was very to see him today!
Oh and just a little back ground. I believe you can have several best friends! I do... there's Marcus, Audrey, Jessica, Jordan, and Brett. Three of the 5 (plus me) make "the group" so appropriately named The Beret Brothers. That would be Marcus, Jessica, Jordan and I. We try to have a Beret Brother night once a week but the past couple of weeks have been scattered and everyone has been REALLY busy but that should change soon, summers coming/here!
SUMMMMMMERRRRRRRR!
